Curriculum Information:
We have weekly themes including ones that revolve around holidays and special events.   Children who are entering Kindergarten in the Fall begin writing their first and last names, practice their cutting skills, begin tying their shoes and review the letters and numbers . The younger little ones will begin to recognize colors, shapes, numbers and letters as well as their own names.  We learn about science and discovery, math, literacy and art. Reading plays a very big part of our day.  We use the Scholastic Book Program and we encourage parents to purchase books for their little ones as well. We also use the Healthy Beginnings and Go, Glow and Grow programs to teach the importance of healthy eating and exercise.   The little ones also have a flower and vegetable garden that they tend to through out the Summer and in the Fall they can harvest, cook and eat what they have grown with their own little hands.  This is how we learn the complete cycle from seed to sharing with others what we have grown ourselves!  Most important we teach the importance of respect, kindness and love.  We learn that every living thing is life.  We do not harm any living creature, be it another person, an animal, an insect or even a tree.  We learn to love and respect our friends, to understand our feelings as well as the feelings of others.  We learn to be compassionate,  generous and gentle.  The skills that are learned here can be taken with them when they enter into the great big world of elementary school.
